Grimberg ruled against Lin Wood’s emergency request to halt the certification of election results. “To halt the certification at literally the 11th hour would breed confusion and disenfranchisement that I find have no basis in fact and law,” Judge Grimberg said from the bench.87

RECOUNT COMPLETE

With the initial machine count and the hand recount completed, we announced certification of the election results on Friday morning. I continued to test negative for COVID-19, so I went downtown to share the news with the media.

“Working as an engineer throughout my life,” I said at a capitol press conference, “I live by the motto that numbers don’t lie. As secretary of state, I believe that the numbers that we have presented today are correct. The numbers reflect the verdict of the people, not a decision by the secretary of state’s office or of courts or of either campaign.”88
